Rookie Day provides an opportunity for prospective campers to spend the day at camp and experience the excitement of summer at Lokanda.  It gives parents a chance to see how Lokanda can help their child be more independent, make new friends and build self-confidence. Most of all, Lokanda's Rookie Camp is a lot of fun!  It's a great way to introduce Lokanda to campers and parents while raising the comfort level about going away to camp.

Rookie Day is for children who are entering 1st through 5th grade. It is a one-day program where prospective campers get to experience the activities, spirit, excitement and so much of the fun that Lokanda has to offer!

Parents and children will arrive at 10am and your Rookies will start their incredible day of fun led by our counselors and sports and activity staff.  Parents will have an exciting morning touring camp and spending time with our staff and directors and learning all about Lokanda.  Beautiful White Lake is a short drive from Lokanda so you can spend your afternoon having lunch and taking in the area.  The day will end at 3:00pm when you reunite with your child and hear all about the amazing day they had at Camp Lokanda. 

The Rookies will follow a camp schedule led by our sports and activity staff, counselors, and Directors! Their action-packed day will include swimming, adventure, sports, music, cooking, art, and enjoy over 100 animals at our nature center.
