Here is your "lion's share" of all the great activities our campers are enjoying...
Here comes the sun...here comes the sun...yesterday could not have started off any brighter. For starters, literally, Lower Camp Boys awoke to the tropical tunes and sweet smells of Ronen's Lokanda Express. There were chocolate chip pancakes and fresh fruit delivered right to LCB campus. What a pleasant surprise!
After breakfast, campers were off to a full day of activity. The Activity Center was filled with happy and engaged campers. Frosh followed expert instruction and molded their sculptures to perfection. Next door, in Woodshop, campers are making mini knock hockey sets and pencil holders. They are learning how to whittle and sand wood. Their creations are both practical and aesthetically-pleasing!
On the fields, LCB had sports instruction to start the day. After targeted instruction, they finished with a competitive scrimmage. Juniors were nearby in Cage Soccer while Subbie Boys and later, Rangers, were down by the lake in Waterpark. Wildcats got on skates and learned new hockey skills while Cadets learned cradling techniques in Lacrosse. Subbie Girls played basketball and then used kayaks and stand-up paddle boards to traverse our beautiful lake. Upper Teen Girls got their turn on the Big Swing in Outdoor Adventure and broke a sweat at our new crowd favorite, Pickleball, while Lower Teen Girls got centered and toned at Yoga. It was quite an active morning!
The afternoon had more fun in store. At the end of lunch, MCB had their Flag Football Bowl Breakout! Campus leader, Josh, came on the big screen with a riveting announcement and Rangers through Subbies exited the dining hall and made their way to the fields to receive their team announcements for this huge, intradivision competition. The boys cannot wait! They spent part of the afternoon in the first rounds of games and ended the day with thrills at Go-Karts and the Waterpark.
Our Mane pool was in full effect, with Upper Camp Girls having their own pool party, complete with slides, sprinklers, and above ground and underwater speakers. Subbie Girls had their fun at Waterski and Crescents followed their lead. CIT boys and Lower Teen Boys cooled off in the resort pool while Upper Teens played competitive rounds of Sand Volleyball.
The evening held another treat. Everyone enjoyed the musical stylings of renowned entertainer, Bruce Jacques, in two separate shows throughout the evening. Campers were on their feet dancing and singing along to new and classical favorites. It was an awesome show!
With sun shining and a full day of happiness ahead, it surely is a Wonderful Wednesday!
