Here's your "lion's share" to kick off our 2022 season!

Welcome home! Camp is that special place, where no matter if it's been 10 long months since you've last strolled among the trees, huddled around a campfire, or played jacks with friends...the minute you return, it feels as if you've never left. And, for new campers, after the first couple of days settling in, camp has already begun to feel like home.

On Saturday, when the buses arrived with our enthusiastic campers, our amazing staff was overjoyed to greet them. There was cheering, clapping, singing, and of course hugs throughout camp. With the sun shining and beautiful weather to boot, Glen Spey was a spectacular place to be! Campers spent the day unpacking and hanging out with friends on their campuses. They spent part of the afternoon cooling off in the sprinklers and slides of the Mane Pool and splashing around in our beautiful, newly refinished resort-style activity pool.

For dinner, we had our traditional first night meal of Chef Jerry's signature yummy chicken fingers and french fries, with all of the sauce options. It was a great sight seeing everyone laughing, chatting, and sharing our first official meal together as one big camp family. Shortly after free-play, we all gathered in the Social Hall to watch the camp highlights of last season and see a preview of all the exciting events to come! We swayed arm-in-arm, sang our camp alma mater in unison, and instinctively knew that we were at the start of another special summer at our home away from home.

Yesterday, we had our first official full day at camp. Ronen started off the summer with a delectable surprise for Lower Camp Girls--The Lokanda Express! LCG awoke to fun tropical music and the beckoning smells of Ronen's made-to-order chocolate chip pancakes. What a treat to start the day! Every age group will experience the thrill of waking up to The Lokanda Express at various points throughout the summer.

After breakfast, campers were out and about at all of our fields and activity areas. Campers of all ages were climbing our 6-sided rock wall in Outdoor Adventure, sailing on our pristine lake, sliding and splashing at Waterpark, honing their skills on our fields, and of course much more! The day was overflowing with smiles and fun and set the stage for what is sure to be an awesome and active camp season!

Last night, we had our season-opener campfires by division. Campers roasted s'mores, played icebreakers, and really connected with each other and their counselors. It was a quintessential camp night for all!

With a full day of activity ahead of us, today is sure to be a Marvelous Monday!
