Here is your "lion's share" of all the great activities our campers are enjoying...
There was so much excitement here at camp, I do not know where to begin! First off, Lower Camp Girls had a huge surprise--Aquapalooza broke yesterday! Teams and captains are as follows:
Red Mane Pool: Maya Ende, Hannah Elsky, Abby Diamond, & Jada Burns
White Waterpark: Mia Hoffman, Isabelle Holden, Phoebe Fisher, Andie Gimbel
Black Waterski: Teddy Laschewer, Mia Lichtenstein, Sloane Grabois, Leigha Hamilton
Green Boating: Bailey Leder, Avery Shabsels, Asha Lipper, Samatha Meyer
Yellow Banana Boat: Ryan Tenem, Peyton Toubin, Taylor Nadler, Taylor Stone
Blue Resort Pool: Sydney Wasserman, Alexa Youngleson, Natalie Herman, Ivy Zeitlin
Teams participated in wacky water relays in our Mane Pool and around campus. Girls got cooled off with water ballons, bucket challenges, water races, and the most pirited "water fight" on campus--quintessentila camp fun!
Middle Camp Girls held its Euro Bowl competition! CIT girls reffed this high-energy, skillful tournament. After all of the intense rounds of games, teams of girls jumped into our Mane Pool, dressed still in their team uniforms, for a fun cool-down.
Lower Camp Boys had their own special event...Superhero Day! The boys erupted with excitement when Jamie, David, and Ross showed up in Superhero costumes. They rushed back to their bunks to get ready and dress in their team colors for their day of friendly competition. Events included a Rescue Ronen scavenger hunt, a Batman Bolt around the racetrack, Hawkeye Bullseye at Archery, and Spiderman Sprints at Waterpark. The teams and captains were as follows:
Red Spiderman: Jordan Schutzer, Alex Mulinec, Jett Azizi, & Isaac Aldad
Green Hulk: Davide Lesh, Asher Landa, Liam Edelstein, & Jack Gold
Blue Captain America: Isaac Loew, Ashton Mechanic, Ari Wolff, & Ilan Honig
White Iron Man: Jake Milazzo, Hudson Weisenberg, Harry Kontorovich, & Brody Steinberger
Orange Flash: Chandller Plask, Dylan Klein, Zach Klein, & Noah Stevens
Black Batman: Ori Mann, Landon Greene, Jax Steinberg, & Lucas Yedvarb
Team Black Batman won Superhero Day!
Upper Camp Boys had a spirited and fierce doubles, double-elimination Pickleball tournament in the morning and MCB followed up with their own in the afternoon. Our 8th grade soccer tournament was a huge draw as well, and crowds of our campers and CIT's took turns cheering our team on to victory against Silver Lake, Timberlake West, and Iroquois Springs. Our Lokanda team swept the tournament with four straight wins! Standout playing by forward, Max Fliegel, who scored four goals, and impressive goal tending by Max Burns and Ethan Newman. It was an amazing collaborative defensive effort ensuring that the team only let in one goal across all four games! Go Lions!
Upper Camp Girls were busy planning for Fashion Show. Subbie Girls through Upper Teens designed and choreographed fashion, art, and dance elements around the theme of "Popular Teen TV." All of girls camp spent the watching UCG showcase their creative efforts. After a fabulously fashionable display of costumes, banner, a dance, interview, and lip sync, the overall winner was.... iCarly!!!!
Today, we have a full day of fun and sun ahead. Tonight, we will dine on a traditional Shabbat dinner and have services down by the lake led by our CITs. We will also pay recognition to special campers who exemplified LOYALTY this past week, our first commendable trait in the L-O-K-A-N-D-A acronym.
