What is the Lokanda Family Lodge?

The idea of Lokanda Family Lodge came to us as a way to bring smiles and joy to our Lokanda campers and their families.  This is a unique opportunity for families to spend 4 days and 3 nights (Thursday-Sunday) at your child's summer home and experience the magic of Camp Lokanda.

Parents and children will live and play together and enjoy all of the beauty of Camp Lokanda and enjoy some of the fun activities!  In order to be a safe space for families to enjoy, we will be limiting the number of families per weekend so we can ensure proper safety protocols and procedures are in place. Each bunk can only have members from the same household.

What activities will we do?

Enjoy great family days filled with lake activities including, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Play on the water with one of our stand up paddleboards or on one of our brand new paddleboats. Relax at our resort-style pool (sorry, not the one with the slides), on our beach, or simply take in the fresh mountain air while disconnecting.

Our spacious Art Center will be open with plenty of room both inside and outside on our wrap-around porch. In keeping with protocols to keep everyone safe, each family will have their own arts and crafts box containing everything they will need to make some great family projects, including tie-dying your own 2020 Lokanda Lodge T-Shirt!

Our tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball courts as well as our soccer, lacrosse, baseball/softball, and football fields will be available at all times.  We also have gaga pits, hockey rinks, and an awesome cage soccer area.

All equipment and supplies will be sanitized between use.

Your time at the Lokanda Lodge is meant to give families a much-needed getaway both for yourselves and your children.  Because you are visiting as a family, parents will be responsible for supervising their children for the length of their stay. We will have Life Guard present at the Beach and Pool.

As the sun goes down the fun will continue as we will have lots of evening activities planned including campfires with smores, outdoor movies, bingo, trivia, star gazing, and more!

Where will we stay?

Each family will stay in their own bunk with a view of the lake!  All bunks have plenty of space and storage areas for your belongings, private bathrooms and showers, and their own private porch. Please bring your own bedding, towels and toiletries.  We will supply towels at our Pool and Beach Area. Parents

Before your stay, each bunk will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized using hospital-grade disinfectants and then sealed to ensure that no one reenters the cabin before you arrive.

WiFi and cell phone service are available throughout the camp (although we hope you will use this time to disconnect).

Camper Favorite Meals!

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Lokanda Lodge have been chosen from a selection of camper favorites including Ronen's pancakes from the Lokanda Express :)  Each family will have an assigned indoor table in the dining room, as well as an assigned outdoor table under our covered pavilion.  Every table will be properly socially distanced. As always, our dining room and canteen are peanut and tree nut-free.

Every afternoon enjoy our fresh fruit cart and snacks.

For those that may need a little something more, our canteen and pizza place will be open in the evenings for some lite bites, our famous cheese fries, and brick oven pizza.  These items will be additionally priced.

Families are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages to enjoy responsibly, and only by those 21 and over.

Health, Safety, Social Distancing & more

Creating a safe and responsible environment for family camp will be a group effort.  To that end, we have created protocols for arrival, activities, and meals for our guests.  As we will further develop these guidelines, the following are the basics:

  • Prior to arrival, and at the time of check-in, guests will be asked to confirm that in the last 14 days no one in their party has tested positive for COVID-19, exhibited signs of the virus, or been in close contact with anyone suspected to have the virus. All families will go through a health screening and temperature check upon arrival.

  • Our staff will clean and sanitize public areas and equipment. We will have hand sanitizing stations at each activity area, in cabins, and upon entering buildings.

  • Face coverings are currently required for all guests when inside common areas and when social distancing is not feasible.

  • All staff will be practicing social distancing and will be wearing masks if not able to distance according to guidelines.

  • Meals will be provided using several safety measures, including the proper spacing of tables, disposable utensils and plates, and all staff wearing the proper PPE.

  • The Health Center will not be open during family camp, however, basic supplies and first-aid kits will be available.

  • We do not permit bikes, scooters, skateboards, pets or smoking.

  • Each bunk must have at least 1 parent

If we all work together, we have the best chance of achieving our common goal of keeping everyone healthy and safe.

How much will it cost?

The fee to stay at the Lokanda Family Lodge for current Lokanda families and Alumni will be $2,500 for 4 days/3 nights (up to 4 people). For non-Lokanda families, the fee will be $3,000.  Each bunk maximum is 6 people.   If a bunk has a fifth or a sixth person, the cost will be $400 per additional child, $500 per additional adult. Children ages 4 and under are free.  This price includes accommodations, meals, and all daytime and evening activities.   Arrival and check-in will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday and will end on Sunday after brunch. Your Lokanda Lodge getaway can be paid for by using any tuition credit from the summer of 2020, or by credit card or check.

Our Canteen will be open every evening for some lite bites, brick oven pizza, and fries.  Canteen items will be additional.

How do we sign up?

Lokanda Family Lodge reservations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and are open to current Camp Lokanda Families, Alumni, and friends. Should you wish to coordinate with other families to attend during the same weekend, please make sure to sign up early as we anticipate that demand may exceed our space. Please make a note on your registration with any special requests.

Due to fixed costs in staffing, facility preparation, food ordering, equipment, and more, all
registrations will come with a $500 non-refundable deposit. If you opt to have this experience credited to your current Lokanda account the fee will be added to your balance at the time of your registration.  Please contact us if you prefer to pay by credit card or check.

We hope to see you at one of our Family Getaway Weekends!!
