Hole in One !

 

Whether you are a seasoned player or a beginner, you will love playing Golf and receiving instruction from our Head Pro, Fred Bennett, and his wonderful staff. After being tested on the first day of camp, all golfers are assigned to playing groups based on their ability. All of our golfers get instruction at our Golf cages, sand traps and putting green during Optional Periods.

Once you have learned the basics, you'll be playing local Golf courses throughout the Catskill area in a regular foursome. While you are out on the links, Fred will give you pointers to improve your game and teach proper golf etiquette as well. All of our golfers will be out playing on a golf course at least once a week. Campers who wish to represent Lokanda as members of our Golf team will be practicing a minimum of once every five days.

Each year, Fred enters a team in the Camp Lokanda Invitational Golf Tournament which takes place on the International Course at the Concord Hotel. Currently, more than 100 campers ship their golf bags to camp and are active participants in our Golf Program.
