A smashing good time !

 

Campers who enjoy working with their hands will be quite surprised to find out that they can create very handsome ceramic projects using only three or four basic clay molding techniques. Since there are no molds all of the projects at Ceramics have to come from the imaginations of our campers.

Of course, Sarah and her assistant will always be there to help you design your project. They'll show you how some simple tools can be used to add dimension and how add-on pieces can truly shape your project into a beautiful piece. If you'd like to try more advanced ceramics, you can make a bowl or a vase on our potter's wheel. When you are all through, you'll be adding a rich glaze to your project before it is baked overnight in our huge kilns. Colorful cups, dishes, cloud and star mobiles, dinosaurs, funny faces, trivets, and even Seder plates are some of the projects that our campers have proudly designed on their own.
